Ingredients

Muscle Meat : Muscle meat provides dogs with a complete and digestible protein; dogs are able to digest approximately 90% of the meat that they ingest. Amino acids are the building blocks of protein and are therefore essential for both building and repairing tissue. Muscles, organs, skin, hair are all made from the approximately 25 amino acids that are obtained from protein. Antibodies, enzymes and hormones are also made from the amino acids in protein.

Organ Meats : Organ meat is densely packed with vitamins and minerals. Vitamins include A, E, D, K, B2, B3, B5, B6, B12, vitamin C, biotin, and Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids. Organ meat also provides a rich source of minerals such as phosphorous, potassium, zinc, copper, manganese, selenium and iron. A number of organs such as gizzards contain cartilage, which is a natural source of glucosamine and glucosamine is essential for healthy joints.

Whole Fresh EggsEggs provide a significant source of usable protein, even higher than the amount of protein found in meat sources. Eggs contain all nine essential amino acids as well as fifteen essential vitamins and minerals.

Fruits & Vegetables : in preparing our dog food we always use apples, potatoes, a green vegetable and an orange vegetable. To aid in digestion and absorption our vegetables are finely chopped. The green and orange vegetable may be changed from time to time to add variety.

  • Apples : Apples are rich in a number of vitamins such as vitamins A, B and C and calcium, fiber and pectin.
  • Potatoes : Potatoes are an excellent source of Vitamin C, the B Vitamins, as well as a number of minerals such as potassium, cooper, magnesium and iron. Potatoes are a great source of complex carbohydrates, protein and dietary fiber. They are also a great source of antioxidants.
  • Green vegetables : Green vegetables are a very healthy and important ingredient in All Good Dog Food. Specifically, green vegetables are rich in vitamin A and C, calcium, lutein, potassium and fiber. Green vegetables are also packed with antioxidants, which are important in protecting the body against free radicals.
  • Orange vegetables : Orange vegetables are rich in Vitamins A and C as well as niacin, potassium and fiber. Specifically, these nutrients are important to maintain healthy coats and skin, to maintain and strengthen the immune system and for healthy vision. The high fiber content that is present in orange vegetables is important to maintain a healthy colon. One orange vegetable we use in All Good Dog Food is sweet potato, which is said to effective for dogs suffering from arthritic pain as it contains a steroid like property.

Purified Water : the most important ingredient in the health and well being of any animal.

Rolled Oats : Rolled oats provides an excellent source of carbohydrate, B Complex vitamins and minerals such as iron, magnesium, phosphorous, and potassium. Rolled oats contains a significant amount of protein; there is more protein per calorie than any other grain. Rolled oats also provides a great source of fiber, which aids in digestion and helps the heart by lowering cholesterol.

Human Grade Stone Ground Flours : There are more than four different kinds of whole unprocessed grains used in the All Good Dog Food recipe. These grains contain amino acids, which enhance the biological effectiveness of their protein.

Oat flour : Oat flour is a rich source of vitamins and minerals and is in general very nutritious. Oat flour also contains a significant amount of protein and is a natural antioxidant.

Brown Rice flour : Brown rice flour is rich in a number of essential nutrients such as vitamins, phosphorous, potassium, iron, niacin, riboflavin as well as a number of complex carbohydrates. Brown rice flour also contains one of the highest quality proteins and has all of the essential amino acids for building and maintaining strong muscles.

Barley flour : Barley Flour is a great source of vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, proteins and fatty oils. Barley flour is also high in fiber, which aids in lowering blood sugar, blood pressure, and cholesterol. It is also great for aiding in digestion.

Organic Spelt :  Spelt is one of the oldest cultivated crops in human history. Spelt is packed with nutrients. It is high in protein, carbohydrates and fiber. Other important compounds in spelt include iron, copper, manganese, magnesium, phosphorous, potassium, zinc, selenium, niacin, thiamin, vitamin B6, and folic acid.

Sunflower Oil : Sunflower oil contains a healthy balance of essential fatty acids including a significant amount of linoleic acid (an omega-6 fatty acid). The fatty acid content in sunflower oil is also connected to increased energy levels. Sunflower oil is rich in Vitamin E, which acts as an antioxidant in the body. Vitamin E is also effective in improving skill health and regenerating cells. Specifically, sunflower oil helps provide dogs with a lush coat and healthy skin. Sunflower oil also has an anti-inflammatory capacity as well as increases immune system health.

Carob Powder : Carob has a wide variety of health benefits including boosting the immune system, acting as an antioxidant and improving digestion.   Carob is rich in calcium, potassium and phosphorus. It also contains Vitamin B2, magnesium and iron.

Nutritional Yeast : Nutritional yeast is an incredibly high source of protein and is also high in the essential amino acid, lysine. Lysine aids in healthy growth, tissue repair, and enzyme production and helps to maintain a strong immune system. Lysine also assists the body to absorb calcium, which helps ensure the formation of cartilage, bone, connective tissue and collagen. Nutritional yeast is also rich in the B Vitamins and iron.

Lecithin Granules :

Lecithin is a lipid and is largely responsible for aiding in the flow of nutrients in our bodies. Cell membranes are largely composed of lecithin. Lecithin Granules contain gamma linoleic acid, phosphatidyl choline and inositol. Lecithin helps emulsify fat and cholesterol by disbursing them in water in order to help remove them from the body, thus helping to cleanse the liver and kidneys. It also helps the body to absorb Vitamin A, D, E and K.

Kelp Powder : Kelp powder has many health benefits, which can be attributed to its rich sources of vitamins, minerals, nutrients, and other organic compounds, including dietary fiber, amino acids, vitamin C, pantothenic acid, vitamin K, riboflavin, foliate, zinc, copper, calcium, potassium, sodium, iron, magnesium, boron, iodine, and manganese. Kelp also contains a specific fiber that aids in the absorption of toxins from the digestive system, thus improving digestion. Also notable for dogs, is its effectiveness in maintaining a healthy coat, skin and nails.

Calcium Carbonate : Calcium carbonate is necessary to balance high phosphorus levels in meat, yeast and lecithin. Calcium helps in the formation and maintenance of bones and teeth and aids in the absorption of vitamin B12.

Vitamin C Crystals : Vitamin C is essential for both the immune and nervous system. Vitamin C is also a powerful antioxidant for the synthesis of collagen, which helps to build, maintain and repair blood vessels, and body muscles. Vitamin C also aids in the prevention of heart disease and helps to promote healthy gums.

Herbs : Herbs are a significant source of vitamins, mineral and nutrients that help nourish the body and promote natural good bacteria. All Good Dog Food uses a number of herbs in our recipe:

  • Parsley : There are a number of healthy nutrients found in parsley including vitamin A, vitamin K, vitamin C, vitamin E, thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, pantothenic acid, choline, foliates, calcium, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorous, potassium, zinc, and copper. Parsley is also a very good source of volatile compounds such as myristicin, limonene, eugenol, and alpha-thujene. Parsley leaves contain energy, carbohydrates, fat, and protein.
  • Oregano : Oregano has a wide variety of health benefits. It increases immune health, as two of the most important components of oregano are rosmarinic acid and thymol, both of which are powerful antioxidant compounds. It also acts as a germicide as it has antiviral, antibacterial and antifungal properties. Oregano is also packed with fiber, aiding in digestive health.   Oregano is also a natural form of omega-3 fatty acids, which improves hearth health.
  • Marjoram : Marjoram is an essential oil that contains a number of vitamins and minerals. Marjoram helps the digestive system process, improves cardiovascular health, helps protect against common illnesses, has anti-inflammatory properties, and helps to reduce anxiety.
  • Rosemary : Rosemary is a rich source of magnesium. It helps aid immune system strength, helps to stimulate the circulatory and nervous system and aids in the prevention of bad breath. Rosemary has anti-inflammatory and stimulant effects to help aid sore stomachs and relax the digestive tract. Rosemary also has antibacterial and antifungal properties.
  • Ginger :  Ginger has a number of health benefits including digestive, antiseptic, and anti-inflammatory properties. The benefits of ginger include its ability to treat stomach problems, nausea, heart strokes, indigestion, inflammation, and respiratory problems.
  • Garlic : Garlic is an anti-pathogen, which helps to remove the body of unwanted organisms and helps cleanse the gut while encouraging normal healthy flora. Garlic aids the pancreas to produce insulin, which assists in lowering blood cholesterol levels. Garlic is also a vasodilator, which helps to increase the absorption of nutrients and oxygen throughout the body.
